Normally around this time, we’d be getting ready for another season of Game of Thrones. However, as you well know, the seventh season is a bit delayed. No matter. Anticipation (or marketing, rather) has finally begun with a very simple teaser poster.
The producers decided to go literal with A Song of Ice and Fire, the book series by George R R Martin, on which the show is based. The ice blue poster, revealed to promote the show at the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas, has a hashtag and the channel’s logo written on a shot of fire dancing with ice.
If we’re being honest, there really isn’t much here. Sure it kind of teases a battle of fire and ice, Daenerys Targaryen’s dragons versus the White Walkers or something to that effect, but we’re just more excited that this is an official piece of content for the seventh season, which is finally, finally coming soon.
Everything about season 7 is very vague as yet. The release date has been announced as ‘summer.’ This new poster has not made things any better either.
