The #NotShaadiMaterial hashtag has taken Indian Twitter by storm, which addresses ridiculous expectations set by men for finding their “perfect woman” for marriage. However, these women aren’t taking any of it and are fighting back by posting selfies and addressing issues that are “problematic” for men, such as speaking their mind freely, getting tattooed, not wearing a saree and drinking/smoking.
This issue was raised by a TV show and has since picked up steam. Women are now challenging the norms and fighting the typical patriarchal society, which is full of ignorance and sexism and choosing to live their life on their own terms and not leaving it in the hands of a man. Here are some of the badass women taking the initiative.
