Ramzan Special: Kadai Chicken That Will Increase Your Appetite

Kadai Chicken is a crowd favourite Iftar party dish that is served to guests which is very easy to make and extremely tasty. This creamy curry will fill your tummy and leave you feeling very satisfied!

Ingredients (For marination):

  • 400 grams of boneless chicken
  • 1 tbsp thick curd
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp ginger paste
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp garlic paste
  • 1 tsp dried fenugreek leaves (powdered)
  • Salt to taste

For the gravy: 

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1/4 tsp ginger paste
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 4 boiled onions, ground into a paste
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried fenugreek leaves (powdered)
  • 4 tsp tomato puree
  • 2 tbsp fresh cream
  • 2 capsicums and 3 onions (chopped and roasted in 1 tbsp of oil)
  • Salt to taste

Method (For marination):

  • Mix all the ingredients together and keep it in the fridge for half an hour.

Method (For Gravy):

  • Heat a little oil in a pan and add the onion, ginger and garlic pastes. Fry until golden.
  • Add all the powder spices, salt, and tomato puree. Fry until it leaves a little oil.
  • Include the marinated chicken and water as needed and cover it until the chicken softens.
  • When the gravy is thickened, add onion and capsicum and cook until both become soft.
  • Add fresh cream on top and serve!
