#MeToo: Akshay Kumar Cancels Houseful 4 Shoot After 3 Women Accused Sajid Khan Of Sexual Misconduct

The rise in the number of people opening up about sexual assault with #MeToo, almost every other day a new name is getting added to the offenders’ list. This time it’s Bollywood director Sajid Khan who is now under the pressure after three women from media and Bollywood have called him out for sexually harassing them.

Houseful 4 Shoot

It is confirmed that Akshay Kumar has canceled the shoot of ‘Housefull 4’ after director Sajid Khan’s sexual assault allegations have come to light. The actor has never canceled any of his shoots for the movies ever but after these allegations, he has taken a stand.

The three women who have called out the Bollywood director are actress Rachel White, assistant director Saloni Chopra and journalist Karishma Upadhyay. Saloni Chopra shared her harrowing story on Twitter with the masses.  Saloni stated how Sajid had said that casting couch was never a one-time thing and she had to be Director’s Assistant and not an Assistant Director.  She shared her story on the Medium website where she called him out for sexually assaulting her almost 7 years ago.

Saloni also called out directors Zain Durrani (she dated him) and Vikas Bahl in the same posts as well.

Actress Rachel White also shared her story on her twitter in response to Saloni’s statement about being harassed by Sajid Khan. He had asked her to strip for a bikini photoshoot and insisting on getting her to his house rather than the office.

Journalist Karishma Upadhyay also called him out on twitter for behaving badly with her in an interview and then tried to force himself on her.

Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta came out with her traumatic story where she was sexually harassed by fellow actor Nana Patekar. She stated that this happened almost 10 years ago on the sets of ‘Horn Ok Pleasss’. This news brought fire on several actors, journalists and powerful people in the media industry. For workplace harassment and other kinds of sexual harassment, women started opening up like never before and these men were blamed and accused by employees, colleagues, and ex-workers.

Nana Patekar, Vivek Agnihotri, Alok Nath, Vikas Bhal, Rajat Kapoor, Kailash Kher, Varun Grover, AIB comedians Utsav Chakrborthy and Gursimran Khamba have all been blamed in this campaign. Top media personalities from newspapers and TV channels have also been called out for workplace harassment.
