In the past few years, finding any kind of employment has been tough for many people. But for mums returning to work after a career break, the challenge can seem almost insurmountable. Not only do you feel the need to compete with younger candidates mums can have trouble battling  their confidence levels after spending months, or even years, out of the  industry. Seems like there are a few job portals that are geared to address this very need. New Woman lists a few.

JobsForHer: JobsForHer was founded by Neha Bagaria with the vision to reverse female brain drain from within the Indian workforce. They offer job opportunities ranging from full-time, part-time, work-from-home, to freelance opportunities and also work with companies to provide returnee internships.

Avtar I-Win: Avtar I-Win was the pioneer in the field of organizations that help women restart their careers, having been set up in 2005 by Dr Saundarya Rajesh. Avtar I-Win has nearly 40,000 women on its network and has placed 8,000 women after a break.

SHEROES: Sairee Chahal co-founded SHEROES.in in January 2014. It curates corporate jobs as well as flexible and work-from-home jobs for women in India. They focus on helping women who are seeking a career along with maintaining a work-life balance.

HerSecondInnings: HerSecondInnings was founded by Manjula Dharmalingam and Madhuri Kale in November 2014. Over 2,000 women have been accessing the portal for job options as well as for coaching to help develop their skills as well as better understand their options. HerSecondInnings has presence in Bengaluru and Mumbai, and offer ‘work from home’ options, temporary assignments, permanent jobs, projects and consultancy and entrepreneurial opportunities.
