Do A Face Clean-Up At Home Using Natural Products

Owing to a fast-paced, active lifestyle, dust and pollution can easily wear down your face’s natural glow. And while rushing to a salon every two weeks isn’t a privilege all of us have, allowing dead skin and blackheads to accumulate is not an option. Fret not, clean-ups at home need not be a daunting task. All you need is the right products. By that, we don’t mean you have to invest in overpriced cosmetics. Simply stir up your homemade, natural products that will give you just the same glow, or maybe even better. Here’s a step-by-step guide to achieving an effective clean-up at home using natural products.

Cleanse

Start by cleansing your face thoroughly. Make a paste of gram flour (besan) and turmeric powder by adding very little water in the mixture. Gently rub your face with the paste for two minutes. Wash your face with room-temperature water. While gram flour removes excess oil from your skin, turmeric’s antibacterial properties make it a great cleanser.

Scrub It Away

You need 2 tsp of sugar (small grains), 1 tsp of coffee powder (filter coffee powder is the best option!), 2 tsp of raw honey and 1/2 tsp of ghee to make one of the best and easiest homemade scrubs. Mix everything well. Take a coin-size portion and start scrubbing your face. Do this for around 5 minutes, and then allow it to stay on your face for another minute. Wash it off thoroughly. You can even try this scrub for the whole body.

Steam It Up!

After scrubbing your face, give your face the treatment of a good steam for 2 to 3 minutes. When you are done, do not wipe your face but gently tap it with a fresh towel. Steam makes skin softer, the pores are opened and will help remove minute dirt particles off the skin.

Apply Face Pack

To make an ultimate homemade face pack, you need 1 tbsp of neem paste or powder, 1 tbsp Multani mitti and rose water (enough to whip a paste). Mix everything well and apply it on your face. Let this face pack dry properly. Once the pack dries, dab some milk on it using a cotton ball. Leave it for another 2 minutes. First wipe it with cotton and then simply wash it with room-temperature water.

Moisturise

Nurture your face further and moisturise it to retain your skin’s hydration and elasticity. However, since your skin will be more sensitive at the moment, make sure you use a mild moisturiser. Opt for virgin coconut oil which is known to be an incredible antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and antibacterial for skin.
