1.Double feed: If you think breastfeeding a baby is a big task, imagine feeding two kids. But do not worry. The increase in demand leads to an increase in the mother’s milk production. So if you can make it work, feeding is the healthiest choice for your babies. With due practice and patience, you will find a method that perfectly works. The real trick is to discover a comfortable position.
Note: Later when you start spoon-feeding your kids, make sure they are fed alternatively than in sequence. Simply because feeding one hungry infant while the other, equally hungry one is watching is cruel.
2.Burp burp: After feeding babies need parent-induced burping. While you are trying to get one to burp, take their daddy’s help to burp the other one. Over a period of time, you will learn to make them both burp together yourself.
Note: Ensure that each baby gets a fresh cloth for a burp session.
Did you know?
Though twins, they are two children, with different set of emotions. So understand that there will be two babies to dress and undress, two car seats to snap in, two babies to be strapped into strollers. Phew! But then, there will be two little angels to cuddle too, which will make you forget all your stress.
3.Diaper fix: Parents dread the thought of cleaning kids’ diapers. On an average, a baby soils 8-12 diapers a day in the first two months. Now, do your maths for the two. It’s a lot of work. So why not get daddy to help you out too? Both of you can take turns for each baby and change the diapers together or in sequence. This will help you bond and have a laugh over baby poop.
Note: If someone asks what you would prefer as gifts, go for diapers!
4.Help at home: Expecting your house to be spick and span all the time is criminal. Get this clear that you need to
concentrate only on the babies in the initial months. Leave everything aside, if it isn’t urgent. Don’t hesitate to seek help from your immediate and extended family.
Note: Seek assistance of your family and friends who are just a call away.
