Gandhi, My Father

One of the most emotional Gandhi movie would be Gandhi, My Father. Produced by Anil Kapoor and directed by Feroz Abbas Khan, it was the first movie that talked more about Gandhi as a family-man than as the nation’s father. This movie revolves around the story of Gandhi, his eldest son Harilal Gandhi and the issues that spiralled around the father-son relationship. Darshan Jariwala did an incredible justice to Gandhi’s character, and on the other hand, Akshaye Khanna’s portrayal as Harilal was unforgettable. Shefali Shah played the role of Kasturba Gandhi and Bhoomika played Harilal’s wife Gulab. The movie not only talks about the family issues but also gives layers to Gandhi’s personality. By the end of the movie one will understand the great sacrifices done by Mahatma Gandhi in his personal life to fight for the Indian freedom movement… the reason he is known as the nation’s father even today.
