A temporary hack, applying on your teeth or brushing with coconut oil can turn your teeth whiter. It also prevents bad breath. Unfortunately, it isn’t as effective in cleaning your mouth and killing those hidden and stubborn bacteria like your toothpaste and mouthwash do. Don’t rely only on coconut oil to keep your teeth healthy and white.

Hair Packs

A traditional hair mask or hair pack consists of coconut oil. Yes, it makes your hair softer but it also depends on the hair type. Not all can handle the oil, especially those with already oily hair. it tends to make their hair worse. Coconut oil has astringent properties that dry your scalp, hair, and tips if used liberally on any hair type.

Coconut oil is often used as a moisturiser that helps in nourishing your skin, but it can’t exactly be used every day. It can actually be more dangerous than helpful since it tends to add another layer and clogs your pores. This then causes breaks out, acne, blackheads, and other blemishes on your skin. Since its oil, it prevents water from reaching your skin thus instead of nourishing your skin it actually makes it dry up even faster than usual.

A good way to use coconut oil is as a sunscreen but not permanently. It can be a temporary hack in place of forgetting your sunscreen or sunblock cream. Coconut oil provides very basic protection which still leaves you with sunburns and red irritated skin after awhile in the sun.

Makeup Remover

It’s a great makeup remover for all kinds of stubborn makeup on your face. Waterproof makeup can be very tricky to get rid off and coconut oil is a good way to wipe it all off. But you also need to remove the coconut oil from your face after the makeup removal process. You can’t leave coconut oil for too long on your skin with leftover makeup as it will create acne and clog your pores damaging your skin.
