7 Surprising Home Remedies For Acne

We’ve all got complaints of acne and you’ve probably tried everything possible. But have you heard of these surprising home remedies that guarantee a pimple-free skin? Treat your stubborn acne with specific teas, veggies, and herbs right from your kitchen!

Green Tea

An all-rounder, green tea is also good to remove acne. Either use the green tea as a face wash or apply used green tea bags on the acne. Loaded with antimicrobial and antioxidants green tea is good for your body and skin from within and externally as well.

Tea Tree Oil

Mix a few drops of tea tree oil with 25 drops of witch hazel and use a cotton swab to apply on your face. You can try this twice a day and not more since it could dry up your skin. Rich in inflammation-fighting elements, tea tree oils are a slow but sure way to get rid of acne.


The antibiotic properties of honey help soothe your acne. Apply a teaspoon of honey on our acne or you can make a honey mask of it by mixing 1/2 cup of honey with 1 cup of oatmeal. Apply this mixture on your acne and leave it on for 30 minutes before washing it off.

Rich in inflammation-fighting properties, blend a chamomile tea bag with enough water to make a paste and apply it on your acne. You can also use two chamomile tea bags with 1 cup of water boiled for 15 minutes. After it cools, use a cotton swab and apply it on your face for cleansing.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is loaded with cooling properties and antibacterial components that help soothe and relieve acne. It also reduces scarring and promotes healing. Scrape the gel from an aloe vera stem and apply it on the acne. You can also buy aloe gel from medical shops but make sure it’s the real deal and not filled with fake ingredients.


A good exfoliator, lemons are rich in acidic properties that act as disinfectants and skin lighteners for acne. They also prevent more scars and new pimples from appearing on your face. Swab lemon juice on your acne with the help of a cotton ball and then wash it off with cold water.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is rich in malic and lactic acids that help reduce redness, treat acne and exfoliate your skin. You can make a DIY toner with equal parts of apple cider vinegar and water. Apply this on your skin with a cotton ball. It helps flush out your pores and improves skin color.
