6 Answers That Made India Win The Miss World Title

Being a Miss World is no ordinary task and it probably takes months, or even years to be properly groomed to become one! These extraordinary Indian women won their titles because of their hard work and also their remarkable answers that put them instantly on top. Here are the incredible replies to the questions the jury presented to them.

Reita Faria

When Reita was questioned in the personality round of the pageant, she was asked why she wanted to become a doctor, to which she replied that India needed more obstetricians and gynecologists. The jury found it amusing and said that India already has a lot of babies. Reita then retorted that that was something we needed to discourage, which received a lot of applause.

Aishwarya Rai

The stunning Aishwarya Rai also proved that she’s a beauty with a brain. When she was asked what qualities the Miss World 1994 should embody, she replied, “The Miss Worlds that we have had up to date, have been proof enough that they have had compassion. Compassion for the underprivileged, and not only for the people who have status and stature. We have had people, who can look beyond the barriers that man has set up – of nationalities and colour. We have to look beyond those and that would make a true Miss World. A true person. A real person.”

Diana Hayden

Diana was asked the simple question of why she wanted to become the Miss World and she said, “I draw inspiration from a famous writer and poet William Butler Yeats who once wrote in ‘With Dreams begins responsibility’. Well for me, this title is that dream and the responsibility it brings, I cherish that in a small way I could make a difference and help the dreams of others. Thank you.” This definitely stood out from the crowd and helped her win the title!

Yukta Mookhey

Yukta was asked several questions during the pageant but the one answer that kept her apart from the rest was when she was asked if she could be anyone in the world who would she want to be. She replied, “Audrey Hepburn. It was her inner beauty, compassion and her aura. The calm that she had inside her reflected.”

Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka was asked who was the most successful woman alive  in the year 2000, to which she replied, “There are a lot of people who I admire and believe in, but what I think one of the most successful women who have achieved not lot for just herself or other countries I think would be Mother Teresa. I admire her from the bottom from my heart for being so considerate, compassionate, kind and giving up her life for people in India to give up everything that she ever had to make others life beautiful, to bring a smile on people’s face and that’s what I believe in. Thank you very much.”

Manushi Chhillar

The recently crowned Miss World was asked who should be given the highest salary and her reason to it. She stunned us all with her thoughtful and witty reply saying, “Since I’m very close to my mother, I think a mother deserves love and respect, I don’t think it’s just about salary but about love and respect you give to someone and I think my mom has always been the biggest inspiration in my life and all mothers they sacrifice so much for their kids. So I think the profession of highest respect and salary should be that of a mother.”
