Lemons are the best way to lighten dark underarms. Why? Since they’re rich in Vitamin C, they are good exfoliators and natural cleansers for your black skin. Not enough exfoliation causes your skin to get dark and accumulation of dead skin cells. This then causes discoloration of skin on varying levels. Baking soda mixed in water helps to unclog the pores and deodorize your armpits at the same time.
Gram flour and Curd
The easiest option to lighten dark skin is to use gram flour (besan) and curd (dahi). This combination acts a useful scrub that clears out dead skin collected in the underarm. The lactic acid from the curd will act as a moisturiser for your skin. Mix the two ingredients and apply it on the dark skin. Leave it to dry and wash it off with warm water.
A cooling vegetable, cucumbers are a good source of natural cleansers. Grate 1 cucumber and apply it to your armpits. Or you can directly apply cucumber juice to the dark skin with cotton balls. You can also apply cucumber slices to your armpits and any dark skin for 15-20 minutes before removing it.
Potatoes are rich in Vitamin A, B, and C which helps bleach the underarm skin in a natural way. You can also apply cold potato juice with cotton balls or potato slices directly to the darkened skin. It soothes the skin and fades the blackness. A mixture of lemon juice with potato juice will also work wonders.
