5 Homemade Hair Serums On A Budget

Who says you need to spend a lot of money on maintaining your lustrous locks? Healthy and strong hair can be achieved with easy and quick home remedies as well. Using natural products and homemade haircare tips will help your hair stay hydrated, nourished and also grow faster. Isn’t it better to use natural ingredients than ones induced with harmful chemicals? Here are some easy homemade hair serums that you can use on any hair type.

For Frizzy Hair

Frizzy Hair

  • ¼ cup aloe vera gel
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 3 tbsp rose water
  • 1 tsp Vitamin E oil
  • 12 drops jasmine essential oil
  • 8 oz bottle
  • Wooden wide tooth comb


Pour the aloe vera gel into the blender along with rose water, coconut oil, and vitamin E oil. Blend for few seconds into a smooth paste. Transfer this mixture into the bottle and add the jasmine oil. Close the bottle and shake well. Store it in a cool and dry place. Rub serum on damp hair and wrap it up in a towel or old t-shirt. Use the wide tooth comb to get rid of tangles. Let your hair dry naturally and voila all the frizz is gone!

For Damaged Hair

Damaged Hair

  • 2 tbsp argan oil
  • 3 tbsp jojoba oil
  • 3 drops lavender essential oil
  • 4 drops sandalwood essential oil
  • Small funnel
  • 4 oz bottle with a dropper


Using a small funnel, pour in the argan oil and jojoba oil into the bottle. Carefully add the essential oils to the bottle.  Close the bottle and shake it well. Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight. Apply just a few drops (2-4 drops) on damp hair.

 For Oily Hair

Oily Hair

  • 3 tbsp grapeseed oil
  • 1.5 tbsp of hemp seed oil
  • 1 tsp of watermelon seed oil
  • 4 drops of rosemary essential oil
  • 4 drops of lemon essential oil
  • Small funnel
  • 4 oz bottle with a dropper


Pour all the oils in the bottle with the help of the funnel. Add in the essential oils carefully. Shake the closed bottle to mix everything up. Your hair serum for oily hair is ready to use. Store in a coll and dry place and use it once a week to get rid of oily hair.

For Dry Hair

  • 1 tbsp castor oil
  • 1 oz avocado oil
  • 3 oz sweet almond oil
  • 8 drops lavender essential oil
  • 7 drops sandalwood essential oil
  • 4 oz bottle with dropper
  • Small funnel


Using a small funnel, pour in the castor oil, avocado oil, and sweet almond oil. Carefully add in the sandalwood and lavender essential oils to the bottle. Close the bottle and shake well to mix everything up. To use, apply just 2-4 drops on damp hair. Leave it in as a conditioner.
