There was a time when Indian Cinema didn’t give much importance to dance. But, the slow and steady dance revolution changed the perception of people breaking all the stereotypes. Here’s celebrating some of the Bollywood dancing queens who brought revolution in the world of dance over the years.
1 The Cabaret Queen
It were definitely the golden days of Indian Cinema when it was all about experimentation in Bollywood. We loved how Helen changed the entire meaning of dance with her cabaret numbers, introducing a new dance style. Her dance moves in the song ‘Monica Oh My Darling’, ‘Mehbooba Mehbooba’, ‘Ye Mera Dil Pyaar Ka Deewana’ enthralled everyone. Today, any mention of dance in Bollywood would be incomplete without mentioning the name of Helen.
2 Queen of Expressions
Madhuri Dixit is probably the only actress who has the ability to dance just from her face. From classical to sensual, Madhuri has rocked it all, make us believe that she is the real queen of dance. We absolutely love her dance numbers ‘ ‘1, 2, 3’, ‘Choli Ke Piche Kya Hai’ and her Kathak dance in ‘Maar Dala’.
3 The Rangeela Girl
Urmila Matondkar doesn’t need any introduction at all. She gave a sensual appeal to dancing along with Jackie Shroff with her dance moves in Rangeela’s ‘Hairama Ye Kya Hua’. She made dancing look so sexy and hot with her moves. Again stole our heart with her super-duper dance in ‘Rangeela’ and ‘Chamma Chamma’
4 Queen of Grace
Bollywood’s beauty queen, Aishwarya Rai not only is the epitome of beauty, and she is great with her dancing skills as well. We still go crazy on ‘Nimbuda’ and ‘Kajara Re’. Even today, we love watching her graceful moves.
5. Desi Girl
Undoubtedly, she has been one of the most talented actress and with dancing skills. Her dance in ‘Desi girl’, ‘Ram Chahe Leela’ and ‘Pinga’ made everyone fall in love with her. She is great not only western dance, she is great with classical dance as well.
