Winter has its own charm – after all this season gives us so many excuses to indulge in booze ! Update your winter beverage game with the drinks like Indian Spiced Wine, Irish Mule Factory and Maple Old Fashioned at Factory by Sutra that are sure to keep you warm and cozy during those colder days! The Winter Cocltail Festival in Factory By Sutra, which began on 25th November will attract cocktail lovers from different parts of the city till 4th December. Corporate Chef of Factory By Sutra Chef Abhinav Sharma has shared three recipes of these three intoxicating cocktails.
MAPLE OLD FASHIONED
Ingredients: 2 tsp. maple syrup, 1 tsp. water, 1 dash bitters, 2 oz. Bourbon whisky, 1 cinnamon stick, 1 orange peel, 1 maraschino cherry
Directions: Combine maple syrup, water and bitters in a glass, stirring until well-blended. Add ice and orange peel, and then pour bourbon on top. Garnish with the Cherry, Cinnamon stick and serve.
THE IRISH MULE
Ingredients: 2 ounces Irish whiskey, 6 ounces ginger beer (or more!), juice of half a lime (about 1 ounce), lime slices (optional, for garnish), mint sprig (optional, for garnish, ice
Directions: Fill a copper mug (or other glass) with ice. Pour in whiskey and lime juice, top with ginger beer. Stir to mix, garnish with lime slices and mint sprig.
INDIAN SPICED MULLED WINE
Ingredients: ½ bottle red wine, 1 cinnamon stick, 2 star anise, 2 cloves, 1 orange, sliced, 1 lemon, sliced, 50g/1¾oz brown sugar
Directions: Place all of the ingredients into a saucepan and simmer gently for 6-8 minutes, without boiling. Alternatively, place the ingredients in your slow cooker and cook on low until warm (1-2 hours, depending on your slow cooker). To serve, pour the mulled wine into heatproof glasses.
