Mixed Sprout Salad

Ingredients

2 cups sprouts, mixed and boiled

2 tsp beetroot, grated

2 tbsp onions, chopped

2 tbsp tomatoes, chopped

2 tbsp cucumber, chopped

1 tsp cabbage, chopped

½ tsp chaat masala

1 tsp lemon juice

½ tsp cumin powder

1 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped

salt to taste

Method

Just toss and turn all the ingredients together and serve chilled.

Fenugreek & Sesame Salad

Ingredients

3 cups methi, washed and wiped dry

2 tbsp sugar powder

1 tsp olive oil

¼ tsp pepper powder

2 tbsp each of toasted black and white sesame seeds

juice of half a lemon

1 onion, cut into shreds

1 tsp mixed herbs

salt to taste

Method: Mix together all the ingredients and serve immediately.

Note: Consume it fast as the salad gets limp within 30 minutes.

 

Peanut Salad Sandwich

Ingredients

2 large pita breads (or hot dog rolls or burger buns), slit into half

butter for application

chilli-garlic sauce for application

For the filling

1½ cups mixed salad, shredded (iceberg, salad leaves, tomatoes, onions, red cabbage and carrot)

2½ tbsp peanut butter

1 tsp oregano

2 tbsp mayonnaise

10-12 basil leaves

½ tsp ginger-chilli paste

¼ tsp fresh coriander leaves

½ tsp mustard seed powder

salt to taste

Method

  1. Mix together the ingredients for the filling and keep aside.
  2. Apply butter on both the sides of the burger buns.
  3. Spread chilli-garlic sauce on the buns. Then spread the filling evenly on the sauce.
  4. Cover with the other bun and serve.
