It’s summer and in this season, mocktails make for the perfect refreshments. So, if you have guests coming over, here are a few mocktails you might wanna try to make them happy.
1. VASANT NEER
Ingredients: 1 tbsp sabja (basil seeds), 2 shells of chilled coconut water, 2 tbsp honey, 2 tulsi stems (Indian basil leaves), pomegranate seeds, to garnish (optional)
Method: Soak the sabja in cold water for at least four hours. Drain the water with the help of a strainer. Take a mixing bowl; add the sabja, coconut water, honey and torn tulsi leaves. Mix it properly and serve chilled in a tall glass. You can garnish it with pomegranate seeds for additional benefits.
2. KHUS MOCKTAIL
Ingredients: 3 tbsp khus syrup, 3 tsp kewra water, 3 tsp lemon juice, 3 bottles of lemon-flavoured, aerated drink (200 ml each), a few sprigs of mint leaves, 1 tbsp fruit cocktail
Method: Mix the khus syrup, kewra water and lemon juice in a vessel. Mix in the lemon-flavoured drink and mint leaves and stir well. In a tall glass, add the fruit cocktail and pour the prepared khus mocktail. Top it with crushed ice and serve chilled.
3 PINK POMELO PASSION
Ingredients: 170 ml pomelo juice, 10 ml lemon juice, 30 ml soda water, pomelo shreds, finely chopped, 1 sprig mint leaves, 5”cucumber sticks, for garnish
Method: Take a pilsner glass. Rim the edges of the glass with lemon. Then tilt it upside down and coat it with equal proportion of salt and sugar. Pour the pomelo juice; then add 10 ml of lemon juice. Now add 30 ml soda water. Add finely chopped pomelo shreds and mint. Garnish with cucumber sticks and serve chilled.
