3 Amazing Dishes You Can Surprise Your Mom With This Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day falls on this Sunday and you’re probably wondering what you could do for her on her special day. Since she cooks every day, you should let her rest and treat her to this easy and simple 3 course meal. Chef Rakhee Vaswani shared these delicious recipes that are extremely easy to make and will make your mummy say “yummy!”

Ceaser Skewer


  • 2 tbsp lettuce
  • 6 tomato cubes
  • 6 trio bell pepper cubes
  • 4 cucumber slices
  • 2 slices of cheese
  • 9 bread croutons cubes


  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp sriracha sauce
  • 1/2 tsp ketchup


  1. Take skewer sticks and alternate croutons as well as vegetables on them.
  2. Do the same on a few sticks and keep it aside.

For the Dressing

  • Mix mayonnaise, Sriracha and ketchup together and put in a piping bag
  • Drizzle this delicious dressing on top of the skewer and serve cold.


Muffin Lasagna


  • 4 wonton sheets
  • 1 tbsp tomatoes (small cubes)
  • 1 tbsp trio bell pepper (small cubes)
  • 1 tbsp french beans
  • 1 tbsp american corn
  • 1 tbsp kidney beans
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1/2 tsp garlic
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 2 tbsp grated cheese


  1. Grease the muffin tray with butter or oil and place the wanton sheet on it.
  2. Take a pan, add oil add all the chopped vegetables. Cook well.
  3. Add the tomato paste and cook for a while.
  4. Take the mixture and put in onto the wanton muffin as a filling.
  5. Grate cheese on it.
  6. Cook it at 180 degrees for 10 mins and serve hot

Easy Apple Pie In a Glass

Yields – 8 short glass.


  • 8 crushed digestive biscuits
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 chopped apple
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • A pinch of cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 tsp raisins/cranberry
  • Whipping cream or ice-cream for garnish.


  1. Take a bowl and mix the crushed biscuit and melted butter to resemble sand. Spoon these into shot glasses.
  2. Heat a pan, add butter, apples, cinnamon and sugar. Cook for 2 minutes and switch off the gas and leave it to cool.
  3. Spoon the apple mixture onto the biscuits, pipe whip cream and serve.
